How can we achieve correct steam quality, pressure and temperature in steam sterilizing Autoclaves? The Autoclave need dry saturated steam at accurate pressure (21 psi) and 121 oC or 116 oC for successful sterilization. Thus, a boiler pressure should be reduced to desired pressure in the equipment using a Pressure Reducing Station. This will reduce the pressure and also increases the dryness fraction of the steam. A Vacuum Breaker should be installed to avoid any build-up of vacuum in the system. Condensate should be drained through a Ball Float Steam Trap.
